Abstract [eng] In the Master’s Degree Thesis the evaluation of study quality by the 2-4 year full-time students of special education (branches: speech therapy; physical education of children with special needs, physical therapy) at Šiauliai University, Faculty of Social Welfare and Disability Studies has been analyzed. The hypothesis has been formulated: it is presumed that the students’ opinion about the factors of study quality is related to subjective factors: motivation for the choice of studies, branch of study programme, year of studies. One hundred and forty-four 2-4 year full-time bachelor students of special education (branches: speech therapy; physical education of children with special needs, physical therapy) at Šiauliai University, Faculty of Social Welfare and Disability Studies participated in the survey. With the method of questionnaire survey it has been investigated how the students of special education programme evaluate the factors of study quality, how similar and how different the attitudes of the students of different years of studies and branches of study programme are, what strong and week sides the realization of studies has. The research has shown that 2-4 year full-time bachelor students who study special education at Šiauliai University, Faculty of Social Welfare and Disability Studies evaluate study quality differently. The students give quite high evaluation of many factors that influence study quality, however, in expressing their opinions they list various shortcomings of study organization. The future special pedagogues especially felt the lack of bigger relationship of theory and practical activity. The research has revealed that the 3-year students evaluate many areas more critically. Meanwhile, many evaluations by 2-year students are higher. From the viewpoint of the branches of study programme the students of speech therapy branch were more satisfied with their studies, and from the viewpoint of the year of studies it was 2-year students. It has become clear that more students of speech therapy branch planned to link their career to the studied specialty, they also gave higher evaluation to their preparedness for work. Consequently, the hypothesis that students’ opinion about studies is related to subjective factors – the branch of study programme, year of studies, motivation of the choice of studies has been proved.
