Abstract [eng] In this thesis work theoretical analysis of literature sources related to art therapy and creativity training opportunities of primary school children has been carried out. The hypothesis has been raised that the use of art therapy methods influences the creativity of primary school children. Diagnostic test method was used to measure the levels of nonverbal creative thinking and imagination of the researched children before and after the qualitative experiment. Empirical experiment method was used to perform a research with the goal to influence creativity and imagination of the researched children using art therapy methods. Creativity manifestations, impact of art therapy methods on children’s self-expression were observed, and case analysis of the chosen researched was performed. Statistical data analysis (descriptive of rates, averages) was performed too. Ten 4th form primary school children aged 10-11 participated in this research. The most significant conclusions of the empirical research are as follows: Art therapy must be understood as humane process fostering socialization of the personality and helping to save one’s uniquity. Creativity is conceived as personal quality related to the ability to find new, original and unexpected things. Features of using art therapy methods have direct influence on the factors conditioning creativity: personal experience, supporting and rich in impressions social surrounding, group work and personality motivation. Having evaluated creativity and imagination features of primary school children after the scheduled number of art therapy sessions, it can be stated that the use of art therapy methods influences the creativity and imagination of primary school children. The case analysis performed revealed that in the sessions of art therapy the participants displayed such creativity manifestations as spontaneity, ingenuity, unexpected emotional outbursts influencing creative process of the group members. The hypothesis has proved out: the use of art therapy methods influences the creativity of primary school children.
