In the master’s thesis Lithuania’s export competitiveness and its determinants have been analyzed and evaluated. In a conceptual part it is dealt with the concept of competitiveness, highlighting the most important determinants of export competitiveness: material and foreign direct investment, exchange rates, inflation, spending on research and experimental development. In analytical-research part an export dynamic, structural analysis was carried out, the Lithuania’s export competitiveness in the European Union market assessed and the determinants of competitiveness analyzed. The analysis shows that the country’s competitiveness has been increasing every year, but the export structure is dominated by low value-added products. The work approved the author’s hypothesis that Lithuania’s export competitiveness is mostly increased because of the expenses on research and experimental development. To increase the export competitiveness of the products in the international market, must by encourage to invest in the development of scientific research, which the basis development and implementation of innovation. |
