Abstract [eng] The Master’s thesis consists of three parts. In the first conceptual part of the thesis the conception of the competitive advantage of the strategy is presented including its importance and meaning, the ways of competitive advantage are emphasized and theoretical aspects of the models of competitive strategy are explained. In the second analytical part of the thesis the research on the consumers of the special construction works subclass is performed. The research has revealed that it is purposeful for the companies focusing on security systems installation to take into consideration consumers’ comments, requests and the peculiarities of their behaviour, received during the research, when formulating the competitive strategy. In order to formulate the strategy for competitive advantage of security systems installation companies it is purposeful for them to draw their attention and put efforts into the expansion of their service assortment, employees’ training, kind and qualitative service provision and qualification and try to achieve that the works performed would be as much qualitative as possible. New technologies and the application of modern equipment in the process of security systems installation, such as: sending SMS to the mobile phone in the event of housebreaking or when the alarm goes off; the possibility to monitor the alarm system by the means of the telephone: to start fire alarm in the event of break-in, to block or unblock the alarm by telephone; the advantage of entrance bell, which informs about opening the door or window, are the most influencing and attractive factors for the customers. In the third constructive part of the work the model of competitive strategy that is suitable for security companies is presented, the analysis of macro-environment of JSC “Šiaulių tauro ryšiai” is performed and the assessment of perspectives is provided. The most suitable alternatives of competetive strategy are selected for “Šiaulių tauro ryšiai” JSC.
