Abstract [eng] Websites are the face, the visiting card of organization, which is available for the entire world despite the location. There are various surveys on how public relations companies use websites, how public relations specialists use blog’s, how they use internet and websites for crisis management. In Lithuania the main attention is focused on design and selection of technology, including software of creating the site. Nobody talks and writes about information content of public relations websites in Lithuania. It shows that the purposes and functions of websites in Lithuania are not investigated and the situation of websites information content is unknown. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the state information on condition and quality and to find out functions of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania. The key goals of this work are: to compose an evaluation scheme for websites of public relations companies content and quality; to analyse the content of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania; to define the main purpose of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania and to identify their functions, to evaluate quality of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania. The object of thesis is the websites of public relations companies Lithuania By means of scientific publications’ analysis, content and interview analyses as main research methods, the main purposes and functions of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania were discovered. The main purposes of the analysed websites are to present information about organization, its products and services. The functions that are implemented in the best way are informative / public relations and communicative, only one company realized memory archive function. By data of content analyses, communication of public relations companies’ websites in Lithuania are build on Press Agentry and Public Information models, but not on Two Way Asymmetric or Two Way Symmetric models. The thesis could be useful for Lithuanian public relations organizations which already have a website or still are planning to have one. The survey results could help them in organizing, sorting and choosing what kind of information to present on the website and how to use information for getting ultimate benefit. Apart from this the thesis could also be useful for website designers in creating and choosing the best solutions of website content. Moreover the thesis could be useful for students of communication studies.
