Abstract [eng] The problem of the research – according to John Holland’s theory of professional singleness, which is founded on person’s profession choice by expressing his/her personality, which is divided into types. The comparison of different student types i.e. realistic (faculty of Technology) and social (Education faculty) student type values, self-esteem and career decision making motives. The aim of the research – to compare the students of Education and Technology faculties according to the following aspects: values, self-esteem and career decision motives. The objectives of the research: 1. To analyse pedagogical and psychological literature sources on the theme of career planning, and to define and motivate the factors that influence career, their content. 2. To compare the value orientations of students’ of Education and Technology faculties. 3. To compare the self-esteem of the investigated students. 4. To compare the career choice motives of the investigated students. 5. To compare the further education motives of Education and Technology faculty students. 6. To compare the aspirations of the investigated groups of students. The research showed that, the values self-esteem and career decision motives of students of Education and Technology faculties differ. The results of the research showed that, comparing both groups of the respondents, further education and development is more acceptable for the students of realistic type than for the social ones. Further education form – course attendance is also more acceptable for the same group of respondents. The students of social type more than of realistic are minded to seek after the Master’s degree. The comparison of aspirations of the respondents showed that, most of them want to work according their speciality i. e. as officers and engineers. Also, the realistic type students want to work as the directors of their own companies.
