Career planning in the scientific literature are usually studied only from the pupil position. This suggests a lack of pupils and teachers approach of systematic research to reveal the vocational school students career planning skills. In this work are studied vocational school students career planning skills adequacy of pupils and teachers in terms of (in the city of Šiauliai case). The purpose of this thesis is to identify career planning skills of vocational school students, their development barriers and improving the prospects in the school of Šiauliai case. The goals are as follows: 1) to examine the professional school career planning skills theoretical aspects; 2) to analyze the professional school career planning skills of students and teachers' point of view; 3) to develop a professional training school students career planning development barriers and provide solutions to improve the prospects. The research methodology. In order to analyze the vocational school students career planning skills, their development and to identify the barriers to improving the prospects of the selected comprehensive research methodology (both a teacher (interview) and the students (questionnaire) survey approach). This study option is determined by the specificity of the investigation that requires both objective and subjective experience and insight with respect to the object under investigation and the need to construct a research object defining a comprehensive holistic picture. Methods used. There were theoretical, statistical (quantitative) and qualitative methods applied. Data collection methods used were scientific literature analysis, questionnaire and interview. The data analysis methods used were the analysis of content and statistical analysis. Structure. The work consists of a summary in Lithuanian and English language, introduction, 3 chapters, discussion, conclusions, recommendations, references, 14 appendices. There are 11 tables and 15 pictures. The main results. Most of the teachers indicated that career planning skills under examination, a vocational school are acquired only in part. Meanwhile, the students' questionnaire results revealed that respondents in their social skills the average, and lifelong learning, cognition and self-education, working knowledge of the world and adaptation work skills are valued below the average. So it can be stated that in the study of school students' career planning skills are inadequate. |
