Abstract [eng] SUMMARY Elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power, thier similarities and differences The present paper of a master of arts is aimed at a comparative analysis of similarities and differences between the elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power. The paper consists of an introductory part, a narrative and conclusions. Chapter one the paper is devoted to analysing the development of the interpretation and understanding of the elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power crimes and relevant regulation by the Lithuanian criminal law. Chapter two of the paper is focused on a comparative analysis of the objective (i. e. the object, the objective side) and subjective (i. e. the subject, the subjective side) characteristics of the elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power. The objects of said acts are elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power. The objects of said acts are different, nevertheless, one often encounters with problems related to the qualification and delimitation of the two criminal acts. In this chapter, for the purpose of delimitation of the elements of property extortion and arbitrary use of power, the following methods have been used: a systematic, grammatical, logical and a comparative method. Chapter three contains analysis of similarities and differences between the elements of crime of property extortion and arbitrary use of power. Each chapter is concluded whit a generalisation as to the concurrences and differences between the criminal acts being analysed followed by the main conclusions arrived at after analysing the similarities and differences of the above – mentioned criminal acts.
