Abstract [eng] In today's constantly changing world, it is very important to understand the personal and professional importance of career planning. Readiness to learn - one of the preconditions for a successful career. Postmodern society, the ongoing social transformation leads to new requirements in humans. Teachers activity - one of the areas hit by the most rapid change and makes carefully planned career. This work dealt with the scientific problem, what the teacher career change resulting from various post-modern society changes and developments in teaching activities, the roles of a lifelong learning context. The object of the research - Kelme district teachers' opinion, about their career changes. The objective of the research - to investigate Kelme district teachers' opinion on their career development in the context of lifelong learning. The study hypothesis. Ongoing changes in postmodern society, the idea of lifelong learning leads to changes in teachers' careers. The method of the research - a survey. In total, the questionnaire was 31 questions: 29 closed and two open-ended questions. The survey sample. The research included 208 randomly selected respondents. The research was conducted in 2010 December - 2011 January of Kelme district schools. Work structure. Master's thesis consists of key terms and glossary, an introduction, two parts: theoretical and empirical findings, recommendations, references and annexes. The study includes 37 figures and 13 tables. Working volume of 82 pages (excluding annexes), use 88 references. Key findings include: 1.Analysis of data showed statistically significant differences between the different teaching experience with teachers' responses. This indicates that the Kelme district educational work experience is one of the determinants of teachers' careers in the process of modernization. 2. Data analysis of the framework set in the work of the hypothesis that changes taking place in postmodern society, lifelong learning concept accelerates the career development of teachers. Kelme district teachers respond to them meet the new requirements of modern in every way possible and try to adapt. Participants study teachers actively learn and adapt in a way to change careers.
