Evaluate work satisfaction among midwives, working in different level of medical care providing facilities. 2. Determine work satisfaction components of midwives, working in different level of medical care providing facilities. 3. Estimate if the midwives, working in different level medical facilities, are satisfied with their profession and workplace in the same level. Materials and methods. Questionnaire for midwifes composed of two structured parts was created based on results of scientific literature analysis and study goals. First part of questionnaire consist questions related to demographic characteristics, midwife profession, job satisfaction and possible negatives of the work. P.E. Spector survey about work satisfaction (Job satisfaction survey) was used in the second part of questionnaire. Administration of medical facilities gave permission to implement the survey. 126 full and correctly filled questionnaires were used in the study. Statistical analysis of survey data was made by using Statistical package for social sciences 17.0 (SPSS 17.0) statistics program. Results. Average score of work satisfaction is 126,4 ±19,4 points. 68,3% of respondents are nor satisfied nor dissatisfied with their work. 15,9% of midwives satisfied with their work and the same amount (15,9%) are dissatisfied with it. Satisfaction with work nature average level is 19,1 ±3,0 points, with coworkers - 17,1 ±3,5 points. 78,6% of survey participants state that higher salaries was the one thing they are missing therefore dissatisfaction with the salary rate average is 8,6 ±4,2 points. 64% midwives, working in third level facilities, would like to change their profession. 56,3% midwives would not like to change their workplace. 61,9% respondents would choose the same midwife profession and only 39,7% of midwives would recommend this profession to an acquaintance. Conclusions. 1. Only every sixth midwife is satisfied with work and the midwives, working in first level facilities, are more satisfied with their job. 2. The highest satisfaction levels are related to work nature and coworkers. Midwives of second B level medical facilities are lack of the good team work. Independently of medical facilities level almost four fifths of midwives are dissatisfied with their salary. 3. Almost two thirds of third level facilities midwives are thinking about profession change. Three quarters of the second B level facilities midwives would not change the workplace. Regardless of the facilities level, three fifths of midwives would choose this profession again, but recommend it to acquaintance only a little bit more then every third midwife. |
