Abstract [eng] Changes of Nutritional and Life-style Habits of Primary Schoolchildren. Comperative study of year 2010 and 2014 Reasoning: Diet and lifestyle of pupils of primary schools depend on their parents’ diet and eating habits, lifestyle and socioeconomic status. In the society opinion and knowledge about health-friendly products and diet, health-friendly lifestyle is constantly changing due to commercial media and various health promotion programs. Parents and children’s knowledge and opinion also change in a certain time potentially changing eating habits and lifestyle. For this reason it is important to evaluate changes of diet and lifestyle among pupils of primary schools. Work objective: To compare students’ eating habits and lifestyle in two X schools in Vilnius city in a time period between 2010 and 2014. Tasks: 1) To evaluate pupils’ of primary schools eating habits in two X schools in Vilnius city and to compare the received results to the results of the analogous research carried out in 2010. 2) To assess pupils’ of primary schools lifestyle in two X schools in Vilnius city and to compare the received results to the results of the analogous research carried out in 2010. Methods of the research: In 2010 in two primary schools in Vilnius city 460 parents of pupils’ forms 1-4 were questioned in a technique of anonymous survey. In 2014 346 parents were questioned by analogy. Data were analyzed using program SPSS 22.0. For qualitative data analysis Pearson’s chi-square (x²) was used. The difference was considered statistically significant when p<0,05. Results: In 2010 66,74 % pupils of primary schools ate 4 and more times a day, in 2014 the percentage slightly increased to 69,53 %, respectively 65,7 % and 73,7 % had breakfast every day, 8,9 % and 4,9 % drank 1,5-2 liters of fluids per day. In 2010 12,2 % of children respondents ate vegetables 3 and more times a day, in 2014 – 11,9%, in line with fruit 22,9 % and 25,0%, bread and cereal – 28,5% and 24,3 %. In 2010 44,4 % of pupils of primary schools consumed food supplements, in 2014 – 52,6 %. In 2010 70,1 % of children respondents watched TV for more than an hour a day, in 2014 – 49,1 %. In 2010 11,7 % of children in primary school didn’t use computers, in 2014 – 20,9 %. In 2010 21,6 % of students didn’t exercise, in 2014 – 27,0 %. In 2010 53,1 % of children spent more than an hour outside, in 2014 – 42,7 %. In 2010 45,7 % of students suffered bullying, 32,4% didn’t feel safe at school, in 2014 respectively 37,1% and 16,3%. Conclusions: The numbers increased of those primary students who have breakfast, consume food supplements, do not use computers and do not exercise. The numbers decreased of those primary students who watch TV long hours, spend time outside, suffer bullies and do not feel safe at school.
