Abstract [eng] The concern of environmental and health problems is growing all around the world in terms of nutrition - basis of health. Nowadays, no one has doubts about that, so it does matter what type of food we consume, supply for our children, for sick and the elderly people. The aim of the task. To identify the specificity and attitude in the consumption of organic food amongst students. Tasks of analysis: 1) to find out students‘ opinions about organic food; 2) to identify students‘ preference and assortment of organic food; 3) to estimate what influence in choosing products that have food additives; 4) to evaluate the part of organic food ratio among students. The research technique: Quantitative analysis method was used - an anonymous questionnaire. 776 students were surveyed at Vilnius University. Descriptive statistics and Stata.12, WinPepi version 11.62, OpenEpi and Microsoft Office Excel 2013 program were used for processing and statistical evaluations. The risk of mistake was chosen 0.05; Results has been seen as statistically significant at p <0.05. The logistic regression model was made up. Results. Majority of students indicated the consumption of organic food (63.7%) . Organic food products are usually preferred several times a week, mostly organic meat and organic vegetables among the students surveyed. Most are more satisfied with the consumption of organic food range (41.6%), and these products are mostly associated with naturalness (56.4%) and quality (39.7%). Students are mostly guided by the organic food label to distinguish organic foods from the usual (47.4%). Among the organic foods consumed by respondents, the main factors influencing the choice of products are guarantee of quality, improvement of health and taste. These products make up 20% of the students weekly ratio. Conclusions. 1) Most of the students are satisfied by organic food assortment, these products are most associated with the naturalness and quality 2) Women compared to men normal body weight and compared to men who are slightly overweight, respondents who rent a residential area compared with ones living in a dormitory, have a greater chance to attain and consume organic products; 3) Organic products are mostly consumed several times a week by students. 4) For students who consume organic food products, the main factors influencing the choice of organic products are guarantee of quality, improvement of health and taste. These products make up 20% of the students weekly ratio. Key words: organic food products, food ration, students, criterions of choosing the foodstuff.
