Abstract [eng] Volunteering appears to play a powerful role as a potential factor in non – formal and in – formal education. It is a factor to affect educational processes. Volunteering is one of the methods that an individual could be in time of developing own skills and competences. Furthermore, it gives a possibility of lifetime lasting education process. The object of the research: volunteering educational potential. The purpose of the research: to give analysis of volunteering educational potential and at the same time to reveal structure of volunteer‘s motivation. The goals of the research: 1. To evaluate non – formal and in – formal education theoretical sources. 2. To evaluate voluntary (third) sector – NGO – basics in theoretical aspects. 3. To reveal structure of volunteer‘s motivation and development of new skills and competences. Methods of the research data collection and processing: - Theoretical analysis: studies of Law and the scientific literature, adult lifetime education, literature resources research; - As the main source of information in the research chosen method was – questioning by word using Skype program and partly standardized questionnaire was used. - Content analysis method. Research volume: 19 respondents were participating in the research from Lithuania and other countries. Using the data which was obtained during the interview, 6 diagnostic categories were disclosed. After research data analysis, the main conclusions were given: - Volunteering is a powerful force for civil society change and life long learning; - Volunteering increases chances of competences and individual skills development in educational basis; - Voluntary work ensure individual skills, talents and interests contribution to gain relevant and pre-professional experiences.
