Abstract [eng] A safe and healthy family and home environment plays the key role in ensuring a harmonious cognitive and social development of preschool-age children. However, researchers claim that a family on its own is not in all cases effective to create a sufficient child development environment. Children, who attend preschool development institutions, acquire a wide range of skills and competences, such as social and emotional self-awareness, social responsibility, self-control, and communication as well as decision-making abilities, and, as a result, achieve higher academic results as well as greater success in life later on, in comparison with children who were raised only in their home environment. Quality of additional preschool education services is the research subject of this Master‘s thesis titled “Quality Assessment and Improvement of Additional Preschool Education Services (Panevezys City Case)˝. The aim of the reasearch carried out by the thesis author is to investigate the quality of additional preschool education services in Panevėžys City.
