Abstract [eng] In the XXI century of rappid changes in social and economical development the educator's role becomes more and more important. The society needs to educate the student with core competences to be able to meet the future requirements. Therefore, education and especially the educational content must be changed reflecting all the changes in society, economics and educational processes at school. Thus, it is not sufficient for the teacher to be only a good professional in his/her subject having his/her own understanding and concept of the truth. The society and educators have high expectations to their profession because the quality of education and development of the society depends on the educator's development. The fact promotes the interest how the roles of educators and the main changes of education as well as school development change and influence the educational processes in modern compulsory schools. The Object of the Work. The change in the educator's roles. The Hypothesis of the Work. It is possible that educators' roles influence the quality of the educational process: the more variety of the roles are performed, the more qualified educational process is provided. The Goal. To analyse the change in the educator's roles in life-long teaching/learning context. The aims of the work: 1. To highlight the meaning of the educator's roles in the context of historical development. 2. To define the impact of the development of the educator's qualification on the changes in educational process. 3. To analyse educator's of compulsory schools attitude towards the main teacher's roles in the modern society. In order to define the main teacher's roles and their influence on educational processes a questionnaire was carried out among Šiauliai region teachers of compulsory schools. The research proved the hypothesis of the work that the educators' roles influence the process of teaching/learning: the more variety of the roles are performed, the more qualified educational process is provided.
