Abstract [eng] SUMMARY THE STIGMATIZATION OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND ETHICAL ASPECTS IN THE CONTEXT OF EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS The aim of the investigation is to disclose the attitude of employer’s to people with mental illness and stigma as follow trait. The task of the investigation: 1. To ascertain and to review the conception of stigma in scientific literature. 2. To review the rights of people with mental illness in documents of work reglamentation. 3. To disclose the attitude of employer’s to people with mental illness. The methods and volume of the investigation: In order to evaluate the attitude of employer’s to people with mental illness and stigma as follow trait was independently analysed accessible literature in lithuania and english languages for purpose to ascertain the conception of stigma and was performed qualitative methods in purpose to ascertain the attitude of employer’s to people with mental illness. In this work was choosed qualitative method, performing content analyse, interview of group: method of focus group. Were did two groups according to indiscrete principle: 1) employer’s, which were separate up to three categories: national sector, private sector, not national (not profit intent) organization sector. 2) People with mental illness. For all two focus group were asked the same questions according to the plan of ahead prepared questions list (A addition). Focus group were done in natural environment. For this investigation were did sound inscriptions. Sound inscription was used to analyse the collect information. To do data-processing was done content analyse. The results and conclusions. In the investigation of employer’s focus group was disclose their negative attitude to people with mental illness. The employer’s critically rate the opportunity for integration to work market of people with mental illness. Were ascertain, that employer’s keeps insecure the people with mental illness in job way. Fear and diffidence incite discrimination and gives stigma for people with mental illness. The part of people with mental illness conceive the job value. But for the other part – job not value. This situation show that stigma makes the life of people with mental illness more difficult and because of that they become passive for everything. In both focus group the reason of unemployment are similar, but employer’s don’t want to take that reasons for themselves. They would like to dissociate from there problems and would not have any job relation terms with people with mental illness. Employer’s would like to know about the people health before they employ them: have they or not mental illness. In the some moment people with mental illness would like to make a secret about their mental illness. The desire to make a secret about their mentall illness we can to name as stigma management strategy, which reference not only with the last negative experience with employer’s, but also with negative public attitude to people with mental illness. Discrimination in Lithuania state documents is regulate but stigma and stigmatization – not. Mental illness makes stigma and takes influence for people with mental illness to have opportunity in work market.
