The theoretical part of the thesis deals with links of the problems with future perspectives of teenagers from foster homes. Hypothesis: Problems of teenagers from foster homes are linked with future perspectives. The questionnaire survey was conducted with the aim to analyze the links of problems of teenagers from foster homes with future perspectives. Statistical (factorial, correlation) data analysis was done. The presence of 156 teenagers who live in foster homes participated in the survey. The empirical part deals with problems which are faced by teenagers from foster homes, professional intentions and their independent future’s perspectives. The most important empirical conclusions that were drawn are: The research results revealed that teenagers from foster homes suffer from behavioral, emotional and interpersonal relationship problems. Teenagers from foster homes do not get adequate social skills necessary for untroubled functioning; they face with anxiety while planning the future of independent life. The main goals of teenagers from foster homes are related to both the graduation from school and becoming adults. Teenagers from foster homes suffer from separation from biological family, they are concerned about the findings of place to live and job search. Longing for family members disturbs to evaluate the future goals positively, because they are waiting for adulthood in order to come back to the family. Hypothesis that problems of teenagers from foster homes are linked with future perspectives was proved: incredulous teenagers from foster homes experience communication difficulties with other teenagers or adults, they avoid to deal with problems, they are not willing to study more, but are willing to ensure their livelihood. Teenagers experiencing communication difficulties and not seeking to study more are those who do not comply with the rules. The variety of occupations, the ability to take decisions on their own, good relationship with other teenagers and adults are related to opportunity to adequate preparation to independent life. Confident teenagers will choose popular profession, they are determined and will combine their abilities with wishes in the future. |
