Abstract [eng] The problem of research and relevance. Violence against children and among children is one of the most pressing recent problems of educational reality. Today's school children face daily violence: use of emotional (psychological) and physical violence, ignoring objectivity, individuality, creating atmosphere of fear, abasely demonstrating superiority. Relevance of expressions of violence at school is shown by attention of media (mass media: press, television, internet, etc.), statistics, practical experience. To stop this phenomenon it is necessary to execute a complex prevention in the society, providing safe social environment in the family, the school community. The educational research may reveal more details of this phenomenon’s structure associating it with today's situation in our country. It is essential to clarify the factors that influence children's expression of violence in school: this supposes the scientific problem of the paper. Subject of research. Children violence expression at school. Hypothesis. It is likely that children's age is one of the most important factors that determines expression of different form violence at school. Objective. To theoretically sound and empirically investigate peculiarities of children violence expression at school. The research objectives. To analyze educational, psychological, sociological, philosophical and methodological literature as well as education and legal documents on the topic; the disclosure of violence prevention concept, stages, levels and opportunities of activity; to find our children’s views on urgency of the problem of violence, prevalence of violence, its forms, techniques, factors influencing expressions of violence in schools, behaviour of the pupils, assistance at the time of the occurrence of violence; to summarize the theoretical and empirical research results, and to formulate conclusions and recommendations for educators. Research methodology and methods. The study is based on the ideas of existentialism, humanism, social learning and symbolic interactionism theories. Methods used in the study: theoretical, empirical, statistical. Survey sample. 303 pupils studying in Siauliai Lieporiai block gymnasiums. The research is important both from theoretical and practical point of view, it broadly analyses peculiarities of children violence expression in schools. Empirical research has confirmed the hypothesis set at the beginning. The results suggest that the problem of violence exists in schools and it is significant from age, gender and class aspects.
