Abstract [eng] Lithuania being in the geographic centre of the Europe and along the Eastern coast of the Baltic Sea covers comfortable transit position between Western and Eastern and Northern and Southern countries ,hence, these factors make advantageous conditions for the usage of the country automobile ways for transit, for the local needs and those of the tourist. Nowadays it has become fashionable to travel. The time spent in a journey often wears down and, therefore, strength is exhausted. The travelers and those spend a lot of time on the road are invited by the roadhouses, by the cafes-restaurants located in highway roadsides, where one can have a nice meal and to have rest at least for an hour, to enjoy interesting and attractive environ-ment in some way, and if necessary, to sleep over. The subject of the research. The roadhouses of Siauliai circuit. The aim of the research. To examine the most significant peculiarities of the roadhouses of Siauliai circuit. The aim of the work is detailed by the objectives that have determined the following structure of the work: first of all, the reasons of the origin and spread of roadhouses have been discussed; the basic features of roadhouses of Siauliai circuit have been revealed; the peculiarities of modern road-houses have been examined. The methodology of the work, which has helped to solve the already mentioned objectives constitutes of literal analysis, observation method and the analysis of the data of observation. Literal analysis permits to state that origin and development of a roadhouse is closely related with the development of communication, with the coming up of road and spread of traffic means, wish to satisfy cognitive, recreational and finally lower needs. While analyzing the observation data, it proved that it is characteristic of Siauliai circuit that.
