Changes in science and technology, social transformations promotes the changes and poses new requirements for teacher‘s career- to grow, reflect, examine, develop their competences and to acquire new; i.e. lifelong learning is necessary in order to adapt to constantly changing conditions of life. The research object – teacher training system and its development in Raseiniai district. The research aim – to evaluate the opportunities of teacher qualification system improvement and development in Raseiniai district. The research was carried out in general education schools in Raseiniai district. 240 teachers took part in the research. The question are for research data was prepared in accordance with similar studies in Lithuania and also the analysis of scientific literature. The research is based on the conception of systems theory, strategic management theories, lifelong learning and inclusive learning. The survey data allowed to identify the main problems of teacher training in Raseiniai district municipality, i.e. poor managerial willingness to address complex human resource management challenges; course content, quality and access issues. The study found that the current training system does not meet the essential concept of lifelong learning requirements: accessibility, teaching and learning integration, human resources management. The obtained data allow suggesting that the managerial and organizational issues is one of the main reasons why teachers poorly assess the school they work in. The current training system is flawy because it does not encourage reflection and evaluation of their experience, neither motivates to learn actively and responsibly. The main reason for training is still a financial incentive scheme. The problems are identified and the recommendations for secondary school leaders are introduced. |
