Abstract [eng] The thesis presents the theoretical analysis of activation possibilities for the rural community. The hypothesis assumes that the rural community in question is not active; however it possesses resources underlying the transition from one developmental stage to another. The study, based on the questionnaire survey method, was conducted with the aim to explore the conditions under which the transition of the rural community from one developmental stage to another takes place. Psychological tests were employed to identify the personal qualities of the members, the type of interpersonal relations, attitudes and the community developmental stage. The criteria for improving the quality of life in rural areas were rated. The content analysis method was used to sum up the analysis of open-ended questions. The statistical (descriptive statistics, factorial and correlative) analysis of data was carried out. 100 villagers from the rural community participated in the survey. The empirical part deals with the factors that promote participation in the community activities, the needs and demands of community members and the community itself, their causes and problems, ways of their solution, personal characteristics of the rural community members, the types of interpersonal relations, attitudes and the quality of life in rural areas. The main empirical findings are as follows: 1. The hypothesis has proved itself that the rural community possesses the resources necessary to switch from the inactive rural community to a higher developmental stage. 2. The scientific literature analysis revealed the existence of the following three types of the rural community: doubtful (dormant), learning and live. These types of the rural community are determined by the following: a. the work objectives: the improvement of the position and relationships and the increase of influence possibilities; b. the community developmental stages of formation, storms, normalization and performance. 3. After the analysis of the findings has been accomplished, pedagogical, psychological and managerial factors were designed, able to stimulate the community transition from one developmental stage to another. 4. The quantitative analysis of the survey established the following: a. rural communities are confronted with the issues of poor leadership, lack of communication, openness and transparency and weak motivation; b. activity in rural communities would be promoted by project work which would help to address the developmental issues of the community and improve the quality of life in rural areas; c. a member of the community should feel responsible for activity, sociality, communication, participation, activities and issue resolution. The individual member’s characteristics are also of relevance. The leader must possess the properties of responsibility, initiative, communication and action and find ways to attract funding (according to the findings of the open-ended questions analysis); d. the community residents actualize the importance of community activities underlying satisfaction of their the needs; e. the inadequate community chairman presents the main problem in the community; f. the basic needs of the rural community bear social character. One of the main needs is related with the establishment of the rural community facilities (according to the findings of the open-ended questions analysis); g. solution to the rural community problems could be aided by the organization of various festivals, contests, competitions, charities and bees, project work, communication and common decision-making.
