Methodology of research: In order to see and understand the extent of the problem from the inside, a qualitative research method was chosen, consisting of literature analysis and empirical research. During the research, it was decided to collect data by noting the thoughts expressed by the participants during the sessions, and after the session – to record reflections and behaviour. The reflections made it possible to gather more information about the traumatic experiences that occurred during the war. In the research, it was chosen to use the methodology of thematic analysis. To complement the reflections, after all the art therapy sessions, semi-structured interviews were taken from the research participants. With the consent of the participants, the interviews were recorded with a voice recorder. The last method of data collection was to observe and analyse the drawings made during the study. An analysis of the formal elements of the drawings was carried out. The research results were summarized by comparing the results of the thematic and drawing analyses. The research results: The use of group art therapy is beneficial for war refugees, because here they can feel safe, have the opportunity to express their traumatic experiences, can properly perceive the current situation, receive support and integrate into the new society more easily. |
