Summary Relationship between value orientations and innovative practices of social workers. Lina Vaitkevičiūtė. Vilnius University. 2024. 65 pages. Innovative action in the context of social work practice is one of the actualities of the social work field nowadays. On the other hand, to purposefully pursue innovative performance, it is important to recognize the related factors and Its dynamics. Since research shows that values are related to human behavior, it would be important to understand the connections between social work professionals value orientations and innovativeness in practice field. The research participants were 172 (161 female) social workers. Participants were selected by non-probability convenience sampling technique. The Short Schwartz Values Scale as well as the innovativeness questionnaire based on an exploratory qualitative study were used in this research. Spearman correlation analysis and Kruskal- Wallis’s test were applied to evaluate the data. The results of the study show that the innovativeness in social work practice has positive connections with the universalism, stimulation, and self-direction values. Furthermore, some significant differences in innovativeness and values were found among the studied age groups, work sectors and locations. |
