Graphic collection „Land of the enemy“ analyses the problem of violence, agression, use of power revealing in human relations, the idea of fragility, variability of human behavior in strained, marginal situations, also emphasizes the importance of varied point of view. It is presented as a special visual protest. The whole subject is developed in the surrounding of modern wars, every composition reflects different possible scene. The collection contains ten compositions, made in silk-screen technique on unstretched linen canvas, combining expressive classical drawing with digitally edited photographical elements and and abstract shapes. Conceptual part of the thesis examines the phenomenon of visual art as a way to convey information using an unique language of symbols and allusions, also how analogical artists expressed their protest. Several selected painters of different periods are compared considering their personal way to interpret the same problems. |
