Sustainable development and good governance discourse aspects are analyzed in the Master’s degree thesis. Sustainable development and good governance at the level of local self-government interface are analyzed. It was seeking to analyze the sustainable development strategy at Rietavas municipality. Define development strategy of Rietavas municipality, its improvement opportunities, developing a hypothetical model. Detailed analysis and evaluation of the implementation of sustainable development principles in Rietavas municipality, highlighting problems and providing opportunities for improvement, are reached in the thesis. The thesis consists of two parts, conclusions, recommendations, references and appendices. In the theoretical part there is analysed sustainable development and good governance discourse, analysis of sustainable development and good governance in local government interface. In the second part is researched integrated sustainable development index calculation and evaluation of sustainable development in Rietavas municipality. Also provided expert analysis of results of the survey interview. The definition of sustainable development strategy in Rietavas municipality, the improvement opportunities, developing a hypothetical model. The purpose of the research: to analyze the sustainable development strategy in Rietavas municipality and define opportunities for improvement in the context of good governance. It is confirmed the contention, formulated by the author, that the sustainable development strategy in Rietavas municipality is insufficient for fragmented and uneven distribution of basic (economic, social, environmental, institutional) development of sustainable development issues. |
