The final work of the master of the participation of women in the management of the municipalities of Šiauliai County, whereas the lack of women's political participation, decision-making, strategic planning and leadership in the areas of interest lately is one of the most pressing areas of research not only in the European Union, but also in Lithuania, because few women are involved in local politics, decision-making, few women occupied positions. The work analyses the main issues: what are the laws in Lithuania and the European Union are governed by the gender equality? Why few women are involved in politics, governance, decision-making. How many women are involved in the management of the municipalities of Šiauliai County? What are the barriers for women to participate in the disturb: in the case of the municipalities of Šiauliai County? Who promote more women to participate in Government: the case of the municipalities of Šiauliai County? In the final issue of master work is articulated around issues: what are the reasons why women are more involved in the governance of municipalities: the case of Šiauliai County? What tools are available to facilitate the participation of women in the management of municipalities: the case of Šiauliai County? In the first part of the work deals with legislation relating to gender equality and gender equality aspects. The second section analyses the participation of women in politics, decision-making and management features. An overview of the work of women's participation in the third part of the 2007-2011 and 2012-2015, Siauliai County management of municipalities, and the reasons why are still few women are involved in local government (elected to the municipal councils, the few women occupy the position, under the direction of few women are involved in decision-making within municipalities), identifies the main obstacles for women to participate in local disturb in power.
