Abstract [eng] State drug price control studies to date have not been widely carried out. Lithuania once again the failed attempt to adapt the old way - to limit competition in the drug market - the application of accounting measures to limit traders' mark-up. Prescription drug prices were regulated until 2002 and this regulation was abandoned in favor of the threat the population in general, not be able to buy drugs. Formation of the rudiments of price regulation, price regulation of medicines has become a problem in one of the most pressing issue of today's research. However, so far mostly dealt with only specific individual areas (energy, agriculture, transport), subject to price regulation and their methods of forming factors. In Lithuania the public domain in the prices of medicines are relatively new, few research works question the methodology and interpretation issues are given little. Therefore implies a greater insight into this area or regulation of prices of medicines are effective in Lithuanian pharmaceutical market.
