Abstract [eng] Gender equality is the cornerstone of the labor law, which stresses the importance of both the national and the European Union and international level. Gender equality is a fundamental human right, the total value of the European Union and a precondition for economic growth, employment and social cohesion objectives. Each European Union Member States, including Lithuania, must harmonize its legislation with European Union legislation, including gender equality in labor law regulations. This thesis addresses the people of gender equality through the application, enforcement, including payments for work and leaves the European Union law and national labor law, in such a way as to identify the principle of regulatory gaps in the national labor law and the possible direction of the decision. In addition, to examine and assess individuals on gender equality enforcement of national labor law, the examination of persons who have suffered gender discrimination, would violate the rights remedies, as well as the right to damages, the burden of proof and the transfer of effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions of the Lithuanian Labour law. Manifestation of gender equality and the implementation of the Lithuanian labor law is dealt with comprehensively reviewing the existing European Union and national legal regulations, case law, legal doctrine, various other documents and estimates of the Lithuanian legislation.
