Abstract [eng] |
We are living in the age of global communication when variety of information becomes accessible for majority of people. To inform the public about scientific developments there has to be inevitable and necessary merger of the two different professions - scientist and a journalist cooperation in a form of conversation. Science communication is developing more rapidly, so at this time is very relevant information about online media, the ongoing spread of education and communication. Currently, increasing concerns about the promotion of science and trends, it is noted that the popularization of science, the dialogue between science and social networking is still a lack of focus - and this is the work of the research problem. The aim of the paper: analyze scientific news which was presented in the delfi.lt, alfa.lt and balsas.lt web portals. Analysis focused on publications taken from the four months of the year 2010, each season (winter, spring, and summer, autumn), the middle one month - January, April, July and October in order to achieve a more objective review of the science and news publications to identify current trends. The research analyzed 434 publications. Aim: To analyze the trends of science news on Lithuania's Internet portals. In order to fulfill the objectives set for the main tasks are: 1. Define and analyze the scientific concept of journalism, its main trends, 2. Investigate what is scientific and communication between the media, 3. On the basis of material collected to analyze the scientific publications in several sections (usually referred to in publications to explore areas of science, analysis of foreign and Lithuanian scientific relationship news, publications, resources, publications commonly used types of journalism and the use of pictorial material). The research methods: the publication of content analysis, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, comparative analysis. The analysis of the theoretical and the investigation of this work have led several conclusions. First of all, scientists tend not to interact with the media for distorting their words, thoughts and simplifications of mutual misunderstanding. Secondly, scientists will also lack the motivation to speak with the media in order to promote science itself. On the other hand, journalists accuse scientists that they are now willing to promote their work in more common language and that unwillingness to communicate with journalists remains. The research has shown that online portals with the science columns for most of the foreign news, the Lithuanian science receives very little attention and it accounts only for one tenth of all publications "Science” section for both foreign and Lithuanian news is dominated by the researches and the results, which in a consequence exploits properly the "scientific" columns. The most attractive and thus dragging more attention of the readers were columns connected with the physics while the second position was taken by the publications made on biomedical science. It also became clear that the analysis is often available on the Internet portals are often republished from other sources. Nearly in the half of all scientific publications are lacking the comments from scientists, that’s why in the web portals journalism dominates along with the short messages which serve as a feedback for the information. This indicates that there is lack of originality in scientific publications, and scientific columns are giving only the basic facts, without going into the causes and consequences and without taking direct interviews from scientists. The vast majority of online publications, portals do not take part in multi-media and the Internet without use of the online opportunities. Web portals are not yet exhausted all reasonable possibilities of the Internet. |
