The target of this masters work – international and intercultural communication between public institutions. The aim of the work – to analyse the format of international and intercultural communication of public institutions, to explore the intercultural problems in work of a cultural attache of Republic of Lithuania, to give solutions for solving them and starting successful cultural dialogue. The goals of the work: to represent the conception and format of international communication of public institution, to show the differences between conception of international and intercultural communication, to analyse the main external manifestations of cultures difference, to represent the cultures classification model of G. Hofstede, to reveal the necessity of communicative and cultural expertise in international and intercultural communication, to lay down the fields of work of cultural attache in cultural diplomacy area, to evaluate the importance of intercultural barriers in work of cultural attache and to give suggestions for improving the cultural dialogue. After making the analysis of literature Lithuanian and foreign authors, we made a conclusion that public international communication is knowable as communication between two or more public institutions for realisation of common target. Intercultural communication is knowable as a process of information changing between people who represent different cultures. We can also understand that intercultural communication is communication between people of different cultures in the same group, organization, office, institution. Meanwhile the international communication appears only when the country border is crossed. We must always pay attention to external manifestations of cultures difference in intercultural communication; also the intercultural expertise is very important. There was made research whose aim was to find out what intercultural differences affects the work of cultural attache of Republic of Lithuania in residence countries and what are the ways for improving the culture dialogue connection between foreign countries. There were formulated suggestions which emphasized the necessity of long-term cultural spread trends in outside the border, the importance of training of intercultural expertise (as for leaving to work in foreign country as periodically), the meaning of permanent communication and collaboration of cultural attache. |
