Abstract [eng] Topicality of the work: the origin of the internet brought the concept of the web, therefore the mentioned concept‘s importance has grown together with the significance of social network researching methods and the discussions of virtual communication advantages and disadvantages, personal virtuality in cyber space. When communicating virtually, adolescents seek for information exchange, socialization, consolidation into virtual communities and/or groups. Scientific works on internet social networks and its specifics, is a topic of many subject researches, however it should be noticed, that there has been no research made on adolescent inter-communication in Lithuania, its characteristics in virtual adolescent websites. It is perceived, that an insufficient theoretical and practical knowledge of the problem may have influence on adolescent behavior alteration, their future psychological and emotional conditions, therefore this work is useful for analyzing adolescent communication characteristics in social network websites. The object of Master‘s work: internet social networks. The purpose of the work - to analyze adolescent communication features in the internet social networks. Goals: to present internet social network concept and the main motives for social network websites usage; to reveal virtual identity and the principles of virtual communities formation on the net; to distinguish adolescent communication advantages and disadvantages in social network websites; to discuss main cyber-threats; to analyze, in what ways adolescents form their image. Methods and results of the work – in order to implement the work‘s purpose and goals, the comparative method and synthesis of scholar literature sources was employed. Literature analysis revealed the characteristics of virtual communication in the net. The empirical analysis of the electronic discourse identified image-forming means, the performed comparative analysis of both v-communities data proved the raised research hypothesis, that adolescents when consolidating into v-communities and communicating with other group members form a new virtual sub-culture, where certain communication, image forming and electron discoursing rules exist.
