Abstract [eng] In this thesis there is analyzed the multifunctionality of the sand therapy while nurturing the underdeveloped language of pre-school age children. The research was implemented following the principles of qualitative research methods. In the theoretical part, there are analyzed the scientific sources about the application possibilities for children’s, who have language underdevelopment, language nurturing with sand therapy, its multifunctionality. During the empirical research, which was implemented using interview method, there was revealed the experience of the speech therapists (N=2) while applying elements of the sand therapy and there was prepared The programme for Children’s underdeveloped language nurturing by applying elements of the sand therapy. During the research there were applied these methods: the half structured interview (of educators and parents), the children’s language descriptions, the half structured observation (researcher’s diary of observations and reflection). In this research, there participated 4-5 years old children (N=3) from the town’s nursery-kindergarten, their parents (N=3), children’s group educators (N=5). Sand therapy is a multifunctional method, which is applied in order to: maintain the motivation for nurturing, develop vocabulary, cultivate fine motility, stimulate positive emotions and wellbeing of the child and nurture creativity. The elements of sand therapy can be applied at all stages of speech therapy exercises and at the same time they would create emotionally safe nurturing environment. Sand therapy elements are important while nurturing slightly underdeveloped language in order to engage a child, to maintain his attention during activities and to keep an appropriate emotional state. While nurturing middling underdeveloped language, the method of sand therapy stimulated the creative powers and curiosity of a child. It was revealed that active ways of establishment of sounds allows the child to focus his attention to the pronunciation. Exercises and tasks in the sand have some influence on the looser hand wrist’s movement. While nurturing significantly underdeveloped language, hand movements in the sand help to lower the inertia of the articular apparatus movement, stimulates attentiveness with reaction to audible stimulations, language sounds.
