Theoretical analysis of concept of parental guidance, classifications, theoretical assumptions of success as well as competence of parental guidance has been conducted. Qualitative research carried out by the method of semi-structured individual interview aims to reveal features of the experience of parental guidance which speech therapists have when providing speech therapy support for pre-school age children. The empirical part analyses the experience of speech therapists: the content and significance of guidance are revealed, methods which are applied and the forms of guidance, success factors of guidance and failure causes as well as speech therapists opinion about competence of parental guidance are revealed. Speech therapists (N = 4) who work in the Centres of Educational Assistance (N = 10) and health services participated in the research. |
