Abstract [eng] In this study we analized the meaning psychosis episode. In the theoretical part we introduced the conception of schizophrenia, diferent theories explaining the etiology of schizophrenia, the development of the psychosis episode, and the theoretical presumptions about the search for meaning in psychosis episode. In this study we mostly refered to the the standpoint of existential – humanistic paradigm authors over the psychosis episode and the search for meaning in it. Eight people (5 men and 3 women, having the diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia – F20.1) who earlier (in the period of three years) had suffered from psychosis episode but now are in the remission state were chosen for the research. The texts received throught interview method were analysed using A.Giorgi method of phenomenological analysis. The results of this study show that the meaning finding for the participants of the research was the outcome of inner processes, during which the person perceives positive aspects of psychosis episode experience and also of the current life-situation. The person gets to know himself deeper and more objectively, values himself and his life-situation, through that changes the persons position to his illnes and his life-situation. The person also recognizes the connection between his situation and the broader context, experiences changes related to transpersonal relations and finds the stimulus and space for the realization of his potential.
