Abstract [eng] STONKUTE, Rima. (2010) Assessment of Women Discrimination in Labour Market. MBA Graduation Paper. Kaunas: Vilnius University, Kaunas Faculty of Humanties. 82 p. SUMMARY The exchange of life habits, women leave the home of cult, and actively engaged in public life. However, the majority of women work less than a vital, low-paid work and volatile, although the opportunities, for women to obtain a well paid job and take a position in society and protect their rights, is increasing. Integration into the labor market, which established the public attitude to women, is heavier than the men. Object of the study – women's discrimination in Lithuania's labor market. Aim of the study – to evaluate women's discrimination in the labor market of Lithuania. Study Structure The first part of the study („THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF DISCRIMINATION“) the authors presented the concept of discrimination, the type and areas of expression. Also discussed the glass ceiling effect and its influence on women's careers. The second part of the study („RESEARCH MODEL OF WOMEN DISCRIMINATION”) basis of index of discrimination and classification. According to statistics discussed the situation of discrimination against women. The third part of the study („RESEARCH OF WOMEN DISCRIMINATION IN THE LABOR MARKET“) using integrated index is assessing discrimination against women, summarizes results of research. Gender equality in the labor market is one of the most important elements in ensuring a stable growth and job creation. Evaluating the sexual discrimination, it is necesarry to evaluate not only social, but also economic, cultural and institutional factors, which directly influence gender equality. Study Scope Study consists of 82 pages (literature and appendix uncounted); 26 table and 22 picture.
