Abstract [eng] Lithuania European Union provided financial support to regional inequalities are considered to reduce the uptake of relatively fragmented. While regional policy issues has become particularly acute in the European Union and other programs funded by the Lithuanian regional development projects at sustainability, and reduce competitiveness. It is understood that a slow absorption results in structural failure and to support the administration acknowledged that EU structural funds management system – an institutional model of government and statutory procedures for administrative support – performance is a key factor in determining the successful absorption of EU Member State, and thus influencing the structural results support the use of efficiency and productivity. Support systems for the administration and the shortfall may be one of the main reasons why the EU structural support is low take– up of Lithuanian regions. The aim of this work is to evaluate the European Union's support for development opportunities in the Lithuanian regions. The object of research is EU funding absorption in the regions. Achieving the aim of this work several goals have been risen. The hypothesis is being checked in this paper – the positive and direct dependence between regions’ economical development indexes and the use of European Unions structural funds exists. In this work such methods have been used – scientific literature, regulatory literature, the comparison method, statistical analysis, document analysis, questionnaire survey. The results of this work could be useful to distinguish between the bodies responsible for EU support funds and structural funds management. As well as students studying in the European Union, or political science, and all who are interested in the administration of EU structural funds and regional development issues in Lithuania.
