Abstract [eng] Communication is becoming a very important in twenty-first century. More and more people searching variety of purposes are going abroad. One possibility is to go abroad for volunteering. Unfortunately, volunteering in Lithuania only now is slowly gaining popularity, so the issue is urgent. Volunteers establish and maintain communication with different cultural backgrounds. During the communication, presenting themselves and their own culture. However, it becomes more difficult to develop and maintain a complete relationship between different parties. Language plays very important role in effective communication. Besides a growing globalization and migration have an impact on novelty events to effectively communicate we must learn about other cultures and be tolerant towards them. The objective of this Master thesis is the importance of intercultural communication in public organizations. Main goal – is to analyze according to inter cultural communication and barrier how knowledge of foreign language impacts performance in social organization communication. Assignment’ goals are: Define the importance of communication in a foreign country, analyzing and comparing the scientific literature, public discussion and understanding and intercultural communication features to define and identified barriers to intercultural communication, as described in volunteering (EVS) concept, based on theory and the study results, influence the language of the volunteer's social life. The main methods used in this thesis are analysis of literature and practical study used volunteer survey method. Analysis of the literature led to the conclusion that modern man is perceived as a system that communicates both internally and to the outside. Intercultural Communication plays an increasingly important role in every life. So very important to be tolerant to other cultures. Of course, the impact of communication barriers is inevitable, but the desire to learn about other cultures makes it easier to deal with them. Volunteers who willingly go to another country faced with communication barriers. The reaserch showed that the volunteers are often faced with language barriers. In addition, the language is the most important factor influencing effective communication and participation in social life. Master's research can be useful communication sciences and communications disciplines teachers and students. Since the work includes volunteering and it may be useful for organizations which send volunteers abroad.
