Abstract [eng] Master’s Thesis deals with impact of changes in indirect taxes on the Lithuanian economy. The Paper consists of three parts. Indirect taxes and their impact on economy have been analyzed on the basis of works written by Lithuanian and foreign authors: the concept of taxes has been revealed, classification of taxes has been presented and features of indirect taxes have been discussed in the first part. The impact of indirect taxes on the state budget revenue and on informal economy has been analyzed, and the impact of VAT, excise and customs duties on macroeconomic indicators has been also reviewed in this part. In the second part of the Paper the dynamic and structural analysis of tax revenue within the period from 2005 to 2013 has been carried out applying different methods. During the above analysis the proportion of indirect taxes in total tax revenue has been calculated, and comparative parts of VAT, excise and customs duties in indirect tax revenue have been established. The analysis revealed that VAT plays the most important role, because its comparative part comprises 70 percent of all indirect taxes in revenue. The percentage of excise duties is rather lower, whereas customs duties comprises the smallest part of all indirect taxes, therefore their change is not as significant as comparing to VAT or excise duties. Correlation and regression analysis has been carried out and it revealed that there is a strong connection between indirect tax burden as well as inflation rate and direct foreign investment. The forecast of VAT and excise revenue has been carried out and possible ways to increase amount of VAT and excises collected to the state budget have been assessed in the third part of the Paper.
