Abstract [eng] Relevance of the work. The institutions policy anticipation is an especially relevant question today. The strategy helps to develop future plans, goals, and choose the methods to achieve them. Effective organization's strategy preparation and implementation allows it to maintain a competitive market, to establish a range of business opportunities, to protect themselves against the outside threats and to meet consumer needs qualitative. These days strategic management of the schools receives a lot of attention, but not the non-formal educational institutions: The potential opportunities for improvement considering the interested groups (parents, children, teachers, managers) and the needs of their participation in the strategic planning process are left behind. Research object. Strategic management of the children non-formal education institutions. Aim of the research. Exposing children's non-formal education opportunities for strategic management improvement considering interested group needs. Methods. The empirical research has been conducted using qualitative research methods. Panevezys non-formal education strategic plans content analysis allowed to determine schools specific situation and policy. In order to investigate the experience of participating in the strategic planning, evaluation of the effectiveness of non-formal education providers (managers and teachers) and service users (parents and children) semi- structured interviews have been carried out. Conclusions. Qualitative content analysis of the non-formal education institutions strategic plans revealed the essential peculiarities of the schools. The inner potential of the school reflects the fundamental strengths of the school: school management, quality of education, school culture, and students’ needs. Most schools link their shortcomings to the unfavorable material resources and lack of relationships between school and family. In the strategic plans of the non-formal education institutions strategy fulfillment and design possibilities are associated with elements of the environment. The threat is seen only from the outside environment factors. Semi- structured interview data analysis revealed that strategic planning effectiveness of children non-formal educational institutionsis is based on a strong analysis of the current situation and the opportunity to provide further operational guidelines. Interested group (parents and children) participation in the planning is passive, little attention is paid to raise their awareness and inform them about the institution's activities prospect.
