Abstract [eng] |
The written work analyzed the issue of imagination and consciousness relation in Edmund Husserl´s philosophy. The presumption is referred that the theme of imagination as a unique mental human’s ability for a long time has been in the periphery of Western philosophy discourses. Such position of imagination has been fixed by Aristotle. Husserl has rehabilitated the meaning of imagination in the daily human life, therefore it has become a necessity in the current phenomenology, consciousness philosophy, neurobiology, etc. researches to define the relation of imagination and consciousness, considering Husserl´s imagination and consciousness analysis. The issue is raised and analyzed in the written work: if all consciousness experiences are the sole reality, and imagination is defined as “modified consciousness”, what is the status of such experiences inside the consciousness? Is the radical division between imagination and consciousness possible in such case and what is the relation of imagination and consciousness in total? On the basis of the raised issue in the written work the thesis is formed and based that the division of imagination and consciousness in Husserl´s philosophy is possible formally, but not practically, because: a) formally imagination and consciousness object and areas of functioning differ, but practically they cannot be separated due to intentional structure of consciousness and imagination; b) formally the status of experiences of imagination and consciousness is different, but practically such division cannot be based on the synthetic time function, equalizing the experiences; c) formally the actual perception of reality (ability of consciousness) can be separated from imagination, but practically such division is problematic due to the applied phenomenological method (from the perspective of first person). This written work relevantly adds to the fixation of imagination meaning, researches on its subject matter, area of functioning, limits and relation with consciousness. The research of the issue of imagination and consciousness relation in Husserl´s philosophy is also significant to the reasoning of the whole phenomenology project as the description of consciousness phenomena in the current Western philosophy: cognition ways and the status of “reality” are made issues. The aim of this written work is to analyze what is the relation of imagination and consciousness in Husserl´s philosophy, to define the subject matter of imagination and consciousness, area of functioning, to determine the limits of functions of imagination and consciousness and to fix the significance of the relation of imagination and consciousness to the whole phenomenology project. |
