Abstract [eng] Physical activity is exceptionally important regarding the quality of a disabled person's life. Disabled people are trying harder to integrate themselves into various social activities, however the integration in the field of physical activity is still quite complicated. The object of this research is athletic clubs of the city Siauliai. The purpose of the thesis is to access the ability of athletic clubs to satisfy disabled people's needs for physical activity. Instruments of the research - two accidental questionnaires: the first aiming to access the need to participate in physical activity among disabled people, and the second - to find out how capable are the athletic clubs of Siauliai to provide services for disabled people. The research's set was assembled based on accidental objective selection. Main criteria of selection for the first stage of research was physical disability, 63 people participated in the research. The criteria of selection for the second stage of research was the people working in athletic clubs of Siauliai, specifically in the positions of customer service (recipient, coach). 36 People of 12 clubs participated in the research. The research is based upon field and normalization theories, which emphasise the processes of realization of physical activity, development, setting of ideas and views to make the physical surroundings disability-friendly. Methods of research - theoretical analysis of scientific literature. Empirical data collected using questionnaire survey. Main conclusion of the empirical research are read below: 1. In this thesis, a hypothesis was presented, stating, that athletic clubs are not ready to provide disabled people with adequate means to satisfy their need for physical activity. It was only partially confirmed. 2. Physical activity is a highly important factor of life quality, which influences the physical, psychical and spiritual health of a human being. The lack of physical activity also becomes a serious obstacle for disabled person's independence and self-reliance. Most authors agree that physical activity is the base for health, in disabled, as well as healthy, person's life. However it is important to choose the acceptable and appropriate form of physical activity. 3. Trying to ensure disabled people's participation in physical activity, this right is established in official legal codecs. 4. One of the aspects of qualitative life is physical activity, which aspires the disabled person to be more independent and strengthens their health. The wish to exercise in a common athletic club is motivated by these reasons: wish to integrate, trainer services, greater variety of services and the need to find friends. 5. Main obstacles in the realization of physical activity is lack of motivation, complexes regarding the disability, financial problems, complicated routes to the clubs, lack of help from the coaches in the clubs, and also personal reasons. 6. Evaluating the knowledge and communicative abilities of the club personal, was noticed that almost half of recipients are very tolerant and able to listen and envisage disables people's ability to evaluate and control themselves. However, most of them are not able to pay attention to specific propositions from the disabled person. 7. The physical environment of most athletic clubs is still unaccommodating for disabled people. Most don't have an elevator, appropriate bathroom, shower, there are no ramps.
