Etiquette is an important object for all the members of society , we use it in everyday life, communicating not only in public places, but also in home environment. Internet space is a place where people meet as well, they interact there not directly, but using computer or mobile phone. Internet users use Internet forums to discuss and share their thoughts, to get or give an advice. Supermama.lt is one of the most popular Lithuanian Internet portals containing a forum . This forum was created in 2002, most of its discussions are related to parenting and family issues. Forum has a plenty of topics, the theme Meilė per atstumą (Distance Love) is chosen to analyse in this work, conversations of chat participants from 2012-11-15 to 2013-04-11 were looked over. 408 speech acts were found. Also emoticons which express certain addresser’s feelings to addressee were traversed. The goal of this work is to find out what kind of language etiquette situations prevails and exists in the forum, what their characteristic linguistic expression is. 7 etiquette situations discussed in this work proved that the prevailing etiquette situations are requests (173 samples), greetings (90) and wishes (68), other etiquette situations were found less, particularly little apologies (3) and anti-compliments (4). Queries are expressed in questions, which usually start from particles (68) and adverbs (57). Requests generally indicate addresser’s wishes (positive points – 7, finishing of negative points – 5, escaping from negative things – 2) . Sveika, -os is commonly used word in greetings (58). The biggest group of compliments by expression is construction containing verb linkiu (52). Thanks are usually expressed with interjection ačiū (21). Compliments are mainly those that describe addresser’s activities, valuable work or behaviour (7). All 4 anti-compliments that were found criticize characters or moods. 3 of them are different because addresser criticize not another person, but himself. 22 congratulations were detected, the major part of them contains the verb sveikinu (19). Only 3 apologies were detected in the examined part of the forum. 2 of them contains a verb atsiprašau and 1 construction is pamiršau dar parašyti. Emoticons used in a part of the forum supermama.lt were discussed, they are used to express various feelings of addresser to the addressee , there are 11 of these emoticons, also 12 feelings directed to the addressees were found. Emoticons express such states as happiness, friendship, gratitude, comfort, derision and others. |
