Master‘s thesis analyzes the strategic management of the municipal company „Siauliai airport“. According to Lithuanian and foreign authors scientific literature, legislation, strategic document content analysis methods, the first part of the master‘s thesis analyzes strategic management of the municipal companies discourse. Master‘s thesis analyzes strategic management, strategic changes management and strategic management in the public sector, the application of theoretical aspects as well as a brief overview of the organization's management and air transport system scientific discourse. Master's thesis is to investigate the company‘s strategic management situation and base strategic management improvement opportunities of the company, therefore during the investigation content analysis of documents, strategic company’s analysis and survey of the informants was conducted. Through the above-mentioned methods, strategic management situation and development opportunities for company were analyzed and problems were highlighted. Results of the study revealed that the Siauliai Municipality influence is insufficient in strategic civilian airport processes management; Siauliai airport is not attractive for the business organizations; real estate management form is not determined what poses fundamental problems on airport infrastructure improvement and development; company’s ground handling and some of aviation security equipment is outdated and dos nor meet modern standards. According to the results of the analysis, the key strategic municipal company improvement opportunities was purified: for a more efficient organization management, strategic thinking needs to be strengthened, the organization's performance management need to be improved and change companies subordination; in order to attract investors, and business partners need to increase the attractiveness of the organization, set up a multimodal logistics center and create favorable business environment conditions in airport approaches; in order to speed up the reconstruction of the existing infrastructure and the development ownership of the apron and hangars need to transfer for company; is needed to expand cargo, passengers and aircraft handling facilities and update ground handling equipment. Master‘s thesis provides conclusions and recommendations for the Parliament (Seimas) of the Republic of Lithuania Seimas, Šiauliai municipality and the company. Improvement opportunities of the company has been formed. |
