Abstract [eng] |
58 pages, 3 tables, 7 pictures. The main aim of this scientific research is to uncover how women in Lithuania experience workplace discrimination and what advantages men hold in the labor market compared to women. This research consists of three main parts: an analysis of the literature, a study, and an analysis of the collected data, including conclusions and recommendations. The study was conducted using qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews with women from various professions and human resources specialists. Thematic analysis revealed six main themes: gender stereotypes in the workplace, perceptions of male and female jobs, the impact of discrimination on career growth, psychological consequences, the role of organizational culture, and proposed solutions for ensuring equality. The research results highlighted the impact of workplace discrimination on women’s careers, psychological well-being, and overall professional experience. Respondents emphasized that discrimination often focuses on stereotypes about emotional or physical capabilities. It was also found that discrimination has a multifaceted impact on women’s psychological state and motivation. It is recommended to implement organizational policies that promote equality, conduct training for employees on diversity and inclusion issues, and establish transparent systems for employee evaluation and remuneration. Future studies are advised to explore discrimination against other minority groups and evaluate the effectiveness of policies in various cultural and organizational contexts. |
