Abstract [eng] |
The master's thesis explores the integration of international television franchises and adaptations into Lithuanian television channels and streaming platforms, aiming to uncover the connections between creators' decisions and audience behavior. It examines how global franchises, such as The X Factor or Lithuania’s Got Talent, are adapted for the local market by incorporating cultural elements, and how streaming platforms like Netflix and Go3 are transforming content creation practices. The study highlights platform policies that provide creators with greater freedom to experiment but also pose challenges due to intense competition and high production standards. The impact of binge-watching on audience behavior and streaming content consumption habits is also analyzed. Quantitative and qualitative research reveals that Lithuanian viewers tend to prefer adaptations that are culturally tailored to the local market. |
