This master‘s thesis focuses on the brief analysis of the executive‘s role in involving employees when forming the school image. Schools are not only responsible for providing a quality education, but they also have become significant for community institutions, which is why their image affects students, parents as well as society. The executive‘s capacity to lead the process, to form the image and to involve staff members in this process is the essential factor for successful competitiveness both locally and internationally. The executive‘s leadership style and the strategies he/she uses to engage employees in the process have a major impact on both the quality of education and the reputation of the school. The main purpose of the thesis is to identify how different leadership types modify employee involvement in forming the image of the school and to highlight the most effective approaches that contribute to this process. The research indicates employee involvement in the process of organization and emphasizes the impact of the executive‘s leadership styles on their motivation and efficiency. It is of paramount importance that the image of the school undeniably becomes its competitive advantage and a collaborative culture between the executive and employees in a workplace contributes to school‘s success. Some research objectives have been set. Firstly, to analyse the concepts of image and employee involvement in connection with their use in the context of educational institutions. Secondly, to compare different leadership styles and to determine the most effective ones for involving employees in forming the image of the school. Thirdly, to discover the experiences and attitudes of employees towards their involvement in this process through empirical research. Finally, to identify leadership methods and instruments that might be definitely beneficial for empoyee‘s active participation in forming the image of the school. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on the analysis of literature resources scrutinizing the concepts of image and employee involvement as well as leadership styles. The employee involvement is perceived to be understood as the entirety of their behaviour and psychological reactions, reflecting their connection with work, organization and colleagues. Leadership styles, particularly transformational, are analyzed as an approach to boost employee’s motivation and loyalty. Carrying out the empirical research, quantitative methods were used so that the teaching staff could participate in surveys with the aim of finding out how they themselves assess their involvement in forming the image of the school. The results of the survey revealed that the role of executives is decisive when it comes to involving staff members in the formation of the school image. Transformational leadership is believed to have been the most acceptable style, which hepls not only to motivate employees to get actively involved in the process, but also to enhance their creativity. Executives creating a conducive atmosphere which is based on collaboration and innovations can definitely have a positive impact on school reputation and long-term success. In addition, involving teaching staff in this process not only increases their loyalty but also improves student‘s academic achievements, which in turn definitely contributes to the exponential growth of the school. The findings of the research show that the capacity of executives to effectively head employees and involve them in the image-building process is the contributing factor that strengthens the position of the organization in the market. The master's thesis provides recommendations on how school leaders can use the principles of transformational leadership and suggests the most appropriate instruments in order to promote employee involvement and strengthen the image of the school. |
