Abstract [eng] |
The aim of this work is to develop an empirically-based knowledge preservation management model for museums. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive literature analysis of knowledge management concepts, defining the concept of knowledge, its categories, and knowledge management processes. Special attention is given to one of the knowledge management processes – preservation process - considering the nature of activities in museums, informal management methods, and the unique interactions among employees. The research part analyses how knowledge management processes are implemented in a particular museum and how this organization currently manages knowledge preservation processes. The aim of the study is to test empirically the suitability of the theoretical knowledge preservation management model in museum. Data collection methods include an analysis of the selected organization’s data, document content analysis, and semi-structured interviews with employees of a selected museum. The collected data is analysed using a qualitative content analysis method, with conclusions and recommendations provided based on the findings. |
