Substantiation: The electronic cigarette has been patented in just ten years ago - in 2003. Therefore, the lack of scientific studies that reveal a steady and long-term use of the electronic cigarette side effects, and the study of this novelty device is limited. Legal electronic cigarette regulation differs significantly in many countries. Opinion that electronic cigarettes are causing less damage to the health of the ordinary cigarette substitute, especially young people. The ability to use various electronic cigarette flavors, strength and a large supply of electronic cigarettes can significantly affect the future health of young people. Objective: evaluate electronic cigarette consumption patterns among students of the Faculty of Medicine. Objectives of the study: 1. Set the electronic cigarette prevalence among students of the Faculty of Medicine. 2. Set the electronic cigarette consumption patterns among students of the Faculty of Medicine. 3. To find out the possible cause of part of the e cigarette consumption among students of the Faculty of Medicine. Methods and scope: the study involved 360 respondents: 79 281 guys and a girl. Subjects were interviewed by questionnaire method. The questionnaire was made up of 2 parts, to find out the electronic cigarette consumption characteristics and socio-demographic data. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS v. 23 statistical package. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) software. Data analysis has been applied to various statistical methods: descriptive statistics, the individual results of the group compared to the criteria used. Data difference was statistically significant at p <0.05. Results and conclusions: 9.4 % of students used electronic cigaretes in last year, 11.1 % in last 30 days. It was found that more than half of students 54.8 % using electronic cigarettes with nicotine, 68.3 % uses various flavors of electronic cigarettes. Most students 38.1 % use the electronic cigarettes infuenced by curiosity. Before buying electronic cigarettes 20.6 % of students take into account the price, but the majority 31.0 % view of other characteristics. Most students 33.3 % use electronic cigarettes mostly with friends. More than half of students 58.7 % learned about electronic cigarettes from friends and 56.3 % of students are usually consumes electronic cigaretes 2-3 times a day. Students who rent or own they own house is 1.9 times more likely to use electronic cigarettes. Key words: electronic cigaretes, students, prevalance, causes, medicine faculty. |
