Abstract [eng] Title: Differencies in the Use of Antidepressants in Regions of Lithuania. The research aim: To analyze the peculiarities of usage of antidepressants in the regions of Lithuania. The research goals: To examine the proportion and occurrence of usage of antidepressants in the regions of Lithuania, separating age groups 18-49, 49-65 year -olds and senior. The research object and methods: The consumption of antidepressants in Lithuania in 2015, according to the data of National Health Insurance Fund on compensatedly dispensed antidepressants. The consumption of medications assigned to N06AA, N06AB and N06AX subgroups, was analyzed using ATC/DDD methodology, which allows to adduce the data of DDD/1000 habitants per day. DDD is determined as Defined Daily Dose, assigned by WHO, applied according to principal therapeutical indication per day by adults. The research results: The consumption of compensated antidepressants in Lithuania in 2015 is 20.85DDD/1000 habitants per day. The ultimate number of the consumption of compensated antidepressants, which is 35.76DDD/1000 habitants per day, is found in the region of Taurage and the minimal number, which is 0.93DDD/1000 habitants per day, is found in the region of Vilnius. The antidepressants, belonging to SSRI group, are consumpted the most in Lithuania. The most popular medication in usage of SSRI group antidepressants is escitalopram, which is assigned to 5. 64DDD/1000 habitants per day and it amounts 27% of all consumpted compensated antidepressants in Lithuania in 2015. The most common in usage, which is 16DDD/1000 habitants per day, escitalopram is in the region of Taurage. The following medication is less common in the region of Skuodas- 14DDD/1000 and Zarasai, which is 12.7DDD/1000 habitants per day. The least common in usage is klomipramin, belonging to TCA group,- barely 0.04DDD/1000 habitants per day. Conclusions: The amount of consumption of antidepressants in the regions of Lithuania differens from 35.76 to 0.93 DDD/1000 habitants per day. The antidepressants, belonging to SSRI group, are used the most. The most popular in use of all kinds of antidepressants in the regions of Lithuania is escitalopram (SSRI group).
