Abstract [eng] Research of Patients Attitude to the Rational Antibiotics Use Master's thesis „Research of Patients Attitude to the Rational Antibiotiks Use&#750; supervisor dr. Kristina Garuolienė; Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy studies by Viktorija Gustaitė ir Danutė Kučinskaitė. Work objective. Evaluate public knowledge about the use of antibiotics to treat infections. Goals. 1. Assess public knowledge about the use of antibiotics in case of infection. 2. Identify the factors that determine patients' knowledge about the level of antibiotics. 3. Assess self-medication with antibiotics if infection is observed. The study participants. The study involved 405 patients who visited our pharmacies. Respondents filled in standardized questionaires. Reasearch was carried out from 2016 in November to 2017 February. Research methods. Data analysis was performed with two criterias: self-medication and treatment compliance. Statisticaly data is evaluated using computerized SPSS version 22.0 statistical data analysis package. Results. It was found that the majority of respondents (83.5%) felt bad turning to the doctor who wrote the prescription. The results revealed that the majority of the population (65.4%) taking antibiotics exactly as prescribed by your doctor and pharmacist, but a large part, almost a third of them (28.9%) tend to stop using antibiotics after health improves. Knowledge about the use of antibiotics in demand depends on the gender, place of residence and level of education (p <0.001, p = 0.01). However, significant differences between the responses of subjects of different ages were found (p> 0.05). Conclusions. Results of the study showed, that patients were more likely to consult with a specialist (about using antibiotics), so their knowledge better than in previous studies and behavior of using these drugs more rational.
